I just appreciate my girls so much. Mikaela has been really coming into her own person - she is almost five now! Anyway, on our way to church on Sunday, she started coughing really bad. Matt and I thought she was faking it (good parents, I know), but when she said that she thought she better skip Sunday school and sit with us, well, we knew something was up. Being the great parents we are, we still went to church, sat in the front, and tried to not infect the adults around us, which I think is much better than sending her to Sunday school to infect the kids right?? She was really good, other than the frequent coughing and constant shifting between our laps and her seat. With all her moving, which isn't typical Mikaela, I was convinced that she wasn't listening, because Matt and I could hardly focus, but the sermon was good. Anyway, about mid way through the sermon, Pastor Mark flashed about ten different images of Jesus on the screen as an illustration - good Jesus, Rock star Jesus, etc. to his sermon. Out of no where, Mikaela says to me "Mommy, there really are NOT that many Jesus', there is only God the Father, God, the Son, and God the Holy Spirit," very matter of fact. Leave it to a four year old...
Then this morning, after throwing a CD out my window that ticked me off (another LONG story), I turned on 91.1 The Refuge. With both Brielle and Mikaela in the car with me, it can get, well, quite loud. Brielle doesn't talk too much, other than Momma and Uh-Oh, but she has quite the set of lungs when she wants something (usually food or what ever Sissy has). And Mikaela, like she puts is, "always has her outside volume on". So, hearing the radio, can be, well, difficult. And this particular morning, I had to be at work by 7:30 am, and I really don't do so well in the morning. Anyway, the announcer, prayed and said something about putting your trust in Jesus, as He is good, and our shining Mikaela pipes up and says, "I trust in Jesus, do you Mommy?" Nothing like a faith check, and an attitude check too!
My girls are such a blessing!
