2010

I have never been one for resolutions, especially not ones that involve a drastic change of behavior while enduring below zero weather. That is just a recipe for disaster and failure. However, it seems that this is the time of year that resolutions have become the topic of conversation.

According to ABC, the top 10 resolutions for the New Year include:

Lose Weight
Get Fit
Manage Debt
Save Money
Get a Better Job
Get a Better Education
Drink Less Alcohol
Quit Smoking
Reduce Stress
Take a Trip

Although I do not have any resolutions for the new year, I am looking ahead to the adventure 2010 has in store. The new year has always offered for me a time to reflect on the year ending and the new one beginning.

For me, 2009 is a year I would like to forget, as it began with the loss of my dad - my hero, my mentor and friend. There are many things that went well, positive experiences, and things to be thankful for throughout 2009, but this one event will forever stand out. This experience challenged my faith and my relationships, forced me to ask tough questions of my own character and existence. Though I will never forget, I can begin 2010 with an inner peace that motivates me to press on and be thankful for what God has blessed me with.
